Ocean Shores Redevelopment

Their two monolithic clad apartment buildings; along with the Community Centre were all subject to water ingress. The villages pool room was also demolished, redesigned and reconstructed. As the village needed to be fully operational; minimal impact on the residents was priority in selecting a suitable partner and process.

Construction was carried out in three phases to help the village accommoate and relocate residents

Stanley Construction successfully completed the project by using some clever methodology and unique methods. Prefabricating new exterior facades to the main apartment blocks offsite; helped to minimise disruption onsite, maximise the extremely small working area; whilst delivering huge efficiencies to the project. Construction was carried out in three phases to help the village accommodate and relocate residents.

A new Colorsteel® roof was constructed literally over the existing roof structure with steel posts penetrating down to the third floor for support and bracing. A contractual requirement was for Health & Safety to meet Lend Leases Global Minimum Requirements. This standard for building performance and site safety far exceeds best industry practice in New Zealand. The Stanley team achieved the buy in and positive engagement from all subcontractors and staff involved. This allowed the project to meet the client’s requirements, earning praise for both commitment and delivery.

Lend Lease operate a zero incident/accident policy, internal audits ensured compliance from every angle was met throughout the project. The Stanley team met every challenge; whilst working closely with the village staff to ensure both parties activities could be carried out with minimal disruption to the other.
