Te Aroha Events Centre

This project is a 2600m2 centre consisting of 14 different courts which cater for multiple sports, a connected 150 seat conference centre, which has the added flexibility of adaptable function room sizes. Adjoining facilities include a reheat kitchen, office, and public washroom amenities. A 65 space carpark and landscaping compliment the complex.

The building sits on a complex foundation system, designed specifically for this structure, to protect it in the event of severe earthquakes

The process adopted for this project was one of collaboration with the client representatives and architect on design aspects of the build. Through the course of the project planning stage, various design options were costed out, both to establish the most cost effective method, but more importantly, the best final result for the client and community.

This meant offering real live ‘up to date’ costing options - without the need for a lot of abortive design work and cost. Where required, costs were cut to fit the budget, the project materials were ‘value managed’ but provide the facility with the ability to up spec the interior in the future if required.

The building sits on a complex foundation system, designed specifically for this structure, to protect it in the event of severe earthquake. Through Stanley’s early involvement in the foundation design process, together with our hand-picked engineers, we were able to trim tens of thousands of dollars out of the final construction cost.

Running concurrently with the architectural and structural design, Stanley Construction teamed up with a number of very competent companies with a design build status, which enables us to deliver a turn-key solution to the electrical, hydraulic services, mechanical services, drainage and fire security.
