RMB 2007 Retail and Business Project

Like their taste-tempting food, KFC outlets usually follow a strict and proven recipe. But the restaurant in Rototuna, Hamilton, is different in shape and design. For the team from Stanley – who have built or upgraded more than 50 KFC outlets for Restaurant Brands New Zealand – it presented an interesting and welcome set of challenges.

It was also another opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of careful planning, effective project management and meaningful consultation with Restaurant Brands, and to enjoy the rewards – including a gold medal in the 2007 Registered Master Builders Commercial Awards.

And that was only half the story. Stanley Construction also picked up gold for construction of a New World store on the same site.

The 10-week timeframe for the KFC restaurant was deceptive; the kitchen had to be ready to operate in eight weeks, to enable the drive-through to open two weeks early.

Further cementing the long-existing and mutually-beneficial relationship between Restaurant Brands and Stanley Construction, both deadlines were met comfortably.
