Qantas Lounge

Wellington Domestic, Christchurch Domestic, Auckland Domestic and Auckland International Airports.

Having secured the contract to complete the refurbishments of the 4 Qantas lounges in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, the late request to carry out the works in a live environment was given.

This changed the whole ethos of the project. Gone was the “clear the areas and get stuck in” approach and in came night shifts and commercial cleaning of the lounges after each shift to ensure that Qantas could operate again in an environment suited to their passengers.

Planning, cleanliness, consideration and respect provided the tools to allow the project to run smoothly with no issues. The close relationships developed with the airport authorities meant the logistics around the delivery of materials and goods could be done with little disruption to the airport and no security issues as these were done “out of hours” to ensure the safety of the airport and more importantly the general public.
