Before we commence any project, we explore opportunities to go beyond the usual expectations of ESD and decrease the impact of construction on the environment, thinking beyond standard practices such as recycling construction waste.

Here are some examples of how get clever with ESD:

Features report

Every EcoBuild submission is accompanied by a features report, a document that outlines enhancements that can be made for little or no financial burden to the project to achieve a greater degree of sustainability. In remedial situations, this report can facilitate a project description change from ‘remedial’ to ‘green enhancement’. The report covers, waste management, insulation, glazing, rainwater harvesting, selection of materials, paints, utilities metering and life cycle cost opportunities.

Off-site fabrication

Using our own CNC machines and the capabilities of Stanley Joinery and Stanley Modular, much of our building can be done off-site. Pre-fabricating elements in a factory environment allows us to control quality more stringently and decrease the environmental impact of construction. Projects also benefit from time efficiencies, because off-site elements can be built concurrently with on-site elements.
