Can-do construction

No one admiring the impressive New World supermarket in Turangi could guess the challenges that had to be overcome by the team who built it – on time and within budget.

The original plans were still being reworked when Stanley Construction began work; precast concrete due well before Christmas didn’t arrive until well after; and extreme weather conditions delayed the site works and external painting.

But despite everything – and thanks to constant consultation between the Stanley Construction team, Foodstuffs (NZ) Ltd and other key players – the supermarket was ready to open on schedule in July 2007.

The New World store in Turangi is a textbook example of how Stanley Construction’s ‘can-do’ attitude really does make a difference.
